After Warren's instructions ending the previous bit, here we have this slow, minor , bittersweet blues, with Jo Jones opening with mallets, and Eddie Durham, having switched from trombone, on guitar in his very distinctive, pre-Charlie Christian style. Soloists are Dicky Wells, Buddy Tate, Joe Newman (with the director's nod to Buck Clayton), and Warren tearing it up on alto. The guts of these elders are something to be reckoned with.
