Two swingin' years... / Dos años con swing

The very minute this is uploaded, it'll be two years since my first post. To express my gratitude to my 8,504 unique readers – because you are all truly unique (read with a mock Dizzy Gillespie accent) – I've embedded the player below to reveal the secret of swing. Yes, someone has finally uncovered that intangible aspect so intrinsic to the nature of jazz, which has kept grown men with beards, turtlenecks and smoking pipes, mulling and musing for the best part of a century...

If it isn't exactly that, at least it's quite funny, and still pretty accurate, I find.

Go here to listen to the same thing applied to Guns N' Roses and Lady Gaga(!) (Thanks to Alex Rodriguez for the heads-up.)

And to everyone, thanks for being there!

Congratulations! These milestones are very important and very gratifying -- blogs bring us into close emotional contact with people who get excited (hopefully in good ways) about the things we love. GOOD JOB! Keep 'em coming, Fernando! Sent affectionately from someone who probably spends one-third of his waking time blogging or thinking about the next blog . . .

Cheers! Michael Steinman

Felicidades maestro.

@Michael: thanks. I'm not sure about the relevance of an anniversary (or the blog itself). I only wish I'd have more time to devote to these endeavours.

@Pachi: gracias, jefe.

Oh, your blog is seriously relevant -- and even if it looks less than relevant to what some consider the "contemporary world," that's the world's loss. And of course the anniversaries themselves don't matter -- but they do: if you celebrate a beloved one's birthday, you are saying, "We are so glad you are with us!" Which we can say of you and of EASY DOES IT. No fooling!
