This is really saddening and shocking: pianist Esbjörn Svensson died last Saturday after an accident while he was diving near Stockholm. As leader of his trio, e.s.t., he was one of the driving forces of European jazz. He was 44, and leaves wife and two children. Arturo reports that the new, now posthumous, e.s.t. album, Leucocyte, is due in September.

El pasado sábado, víctima de un accidente de submarinismo, falleció el pianista sueco Esbjörn Svensson cerca de Estocolmo. Al frente del e. s. t. había alcanzado una gran notoriedad como exponente del jazz europeo actual. Tenía 44 años, mujer y dos hijos. Una tragedia por demasiados motivos.
